Book Downloads

In short, a downloaded book (or “eBook”) is a book available in digital format. Book downloads are one of the newest innovations in the evolution of the book. This technology allows one to download the entire text of a book to a home computer or a portable electronic device. Thereafter, the reader can read the book on-the-go.

Advantages of this technology include improved accessibility as well as portability. One can browse more easily on a computer or electronic device than walking up and down the stacks of a used book store, simply by typing in the desired book and seeing if it’s available.

Some claim that reading a book electronically is not the same experience as reading a tangible book printed on paper; however, as book downloads increase in popularity, it appears to be technology that is here to stay, and which will only increase with time.
